For my project I chose to draw a boot again because I love the way the boots look. The stitching in the design is really cool to look at too. At first I did not want to shade it so I made a print of it on the computer. When I was done shading I am glad I did it. I think it is amazing mow much detail and effort that people put into boots. I loved doing this project and I would gladly do it again.
My 100 year project is kind of random I was just messing around with the different colors. I really had no clue what I was going to make so I just covered my body in black then I drew the face and made a beak. Then I decided that I was going to make a hawk. I ended up making a hawk with really big ears and it has got black and gold overalls on. I wish I had a little bit more time so I could thing more but it was still really fun.I chose to do a cowboy boot because it has a lot of detail and curves. I thought it would be a good challenge for me so I decided to do it. I think it was very much worth it. The prints looked even cooler. It was hard at first and I accidentally cut myself once but it was really fun and I wouldn't mind doing it again. If I would do this project again I would carve out some kind of an animal.
What I learned:
I learned how to make different textures using different tools. I learned how to make really good curves. I also learned that to make art it takes a lot of patience. I loved doing this research project on Robert Smithson. He is a simple and smart guy that is really good at doing what he loves most, creating art. I also liked learning about his past and what his childhood was like and who inspired him. Out of all the artists that I know he is probably my favorite. I love how he uses natural materials in his art. Overall this project was really fun and it was cool that you had the freedom to pick the artist that snatches your interest.
